Between Murfreesboro and Smyrna at 5182–5298 Sulphur Springs Rd, Murfreesboro, TN) sits Nice’s Mill. Nice’s Mill was once known as Ward‘s Mill.
The Stone River at Nices Mill is stocked regularly with rainbow trout from December to June.
There is a large parking lot on the West side of the river. From there, anglers can access the dam or down stream access points.
Not all days, but many days, the river flow is low enough to wade and high enough to swing small streamers. Dale Hollow hatchery releases brood trout in generous quantities from time to time in addition to standard monthly stockings
These rivers are probably the easiest to wade of any river we fish. Reasonably close to Nashville and surrounding areas with excellent access and a gravelly bottom, make the fishing experience on the Duck a great experience.
