Tennessee Winter Outing, February 12, 2025
Depending on weather and river conditions February can be a great month to fish the Duck River near Normandy or the Elk River near Lynchburg or Nice Mill (Stones River) near Murfreesboro. Not all days, but many days, the river flow is low enough to wade and high enough to swing small streamers. Dale Hollow hatchery releases brood trout in generous quantities from time to time in addition to standard monthly stockings
These rivers are probably the easiest to wade of any river we fish. Reasonably close to Nashville and surrounding areas with excellent access and a gravelly bottom, make the fishing experience on the Duck a great experience.

The information below is primarily located near Tim's Ford Lake and the Elk River. Shelbyville is also a location close to the Duck River and Normandy Lake that could be accessed for services.
