Cast Iron Cookout - April 22, 2023 - Leader Ray Alley
Location: 9751 Owl Creek Park, Brentwood, Tn.
Everyone that attended this event over the years knows what a great time to present your cast iron skills and recipes. Another great event to bring the family, it is the most heavily attended Outing of the year by far.
Ray Alley is a master of managing multiple cast iron dishes (27 different cast iron concoctions in 2018) to all come together for a fantastic feast. Along with side dishes brought by members and their families, no one goes away hungry.
Traditionally the event was held at the Caney Fork river in June. June being one of the hottest and most humid months of the year at the Long Branch Campground, as well as cast iron cooking generally featuring hot and hearty recipes, it was decided to move the cookout to a cooler month and different location. Late March got the nod, and Edwin Warner Park got the location.
If you could only attend one event, this is the one we recommend.
If you plan to cook please have dish ready to start cooking by 2:00pm
Dinner served at 4:00pm
See you there!
