The Freeze Out this year will be a fishing event on the Caney Fork River. We will meet at the Waffle House in Gordonsville, Tn. for breakfast and then on to the river for fishing.
The Freeze Out is an annual event began over a decade ago as a social/fishing outing at the Caney Fork River. It has traditionally been one of the most attended of our outings, with as many as forty members and their families enjoying a hot meal and on some occasions, decent trout fishing.
Unfortunately the last several years we have not been able to fish due to excessive water flow during the months of January thru April.
For this reason it was decided by the Board of Directors in 2018, to hold the event at Owl Creek Park in Brentwood as an alternative to driving to the Caney for just the few hours.
Should conditions improve in the future the Board may decide to return to the Caney should the dam work be complete and the river return to its previous fishability.
